Painter of the Month at BankNorth, Great Barrington September: Josie Janssen October: Joan Palmer November: Molly Pomerance December: Naomi Gordon January: Alan Roland The 2006 Student Scholarship Show (our 31st year!) at the Welles Gallery of the Lenox Library in Lenox, MA, through May 31, displayed marvellous talent among our high school seniors. This year's show boasts 72 pieces from 18 artists. See the Scholarship Program page for details. Carol Sica reports that there has been a wonderful response to requests for donations to the Scholarship Fund (see above)! Thank you all, and keep those donations rolling in! Also, sincere thanks to Bonnie Oloff for her assistance with the administrative duties for the Scholarship project. Two HVAL members are holding a Holiday Show at the Casa Mia Art Studio, 1291 Ashley Falls Rd., Ashley Falls, MA, Nov 25 - 26, 2006. On exhibit will be scratchboards and other works by Lois Ryder and pastels and watercolors by Lois Van Cleef. Hours are 11-4. Leo Mazzeo has just been awarded Elected Artist status in the Kent Art Association; congratulations! Andrea Scott has designed a book with a collection of her paintings, and it's now available. The book is a 72-page, 9x7-inch paperback with more than 80 full-color reproductions of her work, plus an essay about stepping into the world of watercolors. Some of the paintings in the book, plus some newer ones, are on view at The Oxbow Gallery, Great Barrington. Lori Barker will be exhibiting in two locations: The Studio, Oakwood Ave, West Hartford, CT (ongoing), Jerram Winery, New Hartford, CT (May 21 - June 25). Julia Edmonds exhibited oil paintings along with the photographs of Sanford Kreger at the Welles Gallery of the Lenox Library, Sept 2 - 30. Congratulations to Marion Grant and Pat Ryan who have been accepted into the installation art portion of the "Art of the Game" in Pittsfield this summer.
